My dad’s side of the family is from a little town about 6 hours from where I live. So we don’t visit very often but when we do it’s a big party! I’m returning to see my family members this year. This month’s blueberry bujo theme reminds me of that.
My extended family has a cabin on a river, which we visit once every year or two. (Other family members use it more often.) The area has some wild blueberry bushes. Picking blueberries is one of my favourite activities to do when I’m visiting. They might be small and a little sour but they taste like home. Who wouldn’t want those?!
My bullet journal theme for the month of August is blueberries. I hope you like it!
Cover Page
This theme was very easy to create! A blueberry bujo theme was the perfect design for this month. I added the title in the middle of the two-page spread. To make my spreads even more special this month, I even used a font called blueberry that I found on Canva for all the titles including the cover page. Yes, I do think I’m clever! (But apparently not very funny.)
I’m not great at realistic drawings so I went with a different kind of blueberry design. I drew the circles in blue and the green eye shapes first. Next, I added the outlines for the blueberries and the leaves above the colours. I linked all of them together as if they were on branches. The blueberry and leaf outlines are off-center to give it a more abstract feel. Lastly, I used a white gel pen to highlight the blueberries, making them a little more realistic. I love how it turned out!
Calendar
Usually, I like to keep my calendar small, on one page, but I wanted to try a two-page spread this month. My blueberry bujo theme deserved lots of space. (And I’m using up my pages before I start a new journal. Oops!)
I wrote the title at the top in the middle of the page. It is surrounded by blueberries on both sides. So cute! The blueberries are at the bottom of the page too to fill in the extra space.
The calendar itself is done with wavy lines. I thought the lines would look more like the blueberry branches if they were a little wavy. Success!
Also, I added a little to-do list on the side of the calendar for all my monthly tasks. I kept the same colour scheme throughout the entire month, so I used the green from the leaves for the lines. I can’t wait to use this spread!
(P.S.: I forgot to add the days of the week. Oops!)
Daily Highlights
I used the same blueberry font for this title. And the same blueberries around the page to stick with the theme.
I wanted lots of space this month for this spread, so I used two pages. Lately, I’ve been wanting to document what happened during my day instead of just my highlights. I thought this spread would be a good place to try.
I used the same colours (blue and green) for the numbers and the lines. I’m very excited to try this spread! I hope you like it too!
Mood Tracker / Water Tracker
My mood tracker and water tracker were combined into one this month. Both pages have the same font and the blueberries next to the titles.
I have colourless blueberry outlines all over the pages. As I go along, I simply need to colour them in with my colour scheme.
I love that both pages together look unified. Usually, my water tracker is one of my favourites to create because I have lots of little elements to fill in. Now I have two spreads for that!
Habit Tracker
Honestly, my habit tracker this month is my favourite spread! I kept the same blueberry font for the title and the names of my habits.
I have little calendars for each of my four habits. They were drawn right in the middle of the page to leave space. Because I have lots of space on the page, I have plenty of blueberries around the spread. The page is just so vibrant with all the blueberries! I’m looking forward to using this page!
Expense Tracker
My expense tracker, like always, is simple. I have a column for dates, another for descriptions, and one for the amount spend or earned. I have blueberries next to the title and some at the bottom of the page.
When it comes to my expenses, I don’t want to overcomplicate them. The easier, the better!
Blueberries are a big part of my summer experience. We love going blueberry picking, especially near my family cabin. So my August bullet journal (bujo) theme is blueberry! It’s so cute! I love how it turned out! What’s your bullet journal theme this August?
