It can be really hard to find Christmas gifts for readers. You can’t exactly pick up a book and know immediately if they will want to read it (unless they told you, which ruins the surprise of Christmas). That’s why reading-related gifts can sometimes be the way to go. Check out these great Christmas gifts for readers that your loved ones will just adore!

1. Book Holder

One of the hardest parts about being a reader is the difficulty to hold books open. Your fingers start to hurt and you have to keep moving the book around. This tool is the perfect way to avoid all those problems. The reader in your life will greatly appreciate a new way to hold their books open.

2. Reading Light

Every reader has the same problem: sunshine doesn’t last all day. It’s really hard to read when you can’t see what you are looking at. And the lighting isn’t always in the perfect spot for reading. However, there are lights out there that can hook onto books. It’s incredibly practical and useful! Your reader will love having a light at their disposal for late-night reading.

Or they might like the one that goes around their neck instead of on the book.

3. Reading Planner

A reading planner is a great idea when you have multiple books on the go or have read so many books this year that you can’t keep track of them all. Your reader can easily keep track of all of their books and reading. It’s the perfect gift for the avid reader!

4. Reader Mug

There is nothing more satisfying than sitting with a blanket, a book, and a nice warm cup of tea. The reader in your life is definitely in the mood for a good cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. Therefore, they would adore a new mug with a fun saying. Every reader needs a mug!

5. Temperature Controlled Smart Mug

Sometimes readers get distracted by their books, which leads to a cold drink. It can be devastating to have your drink get cold after putting all the effort to make it in the first place. Temperature-controlled smart mugs allow your reader to keep their drinks warm. It’s the perfect gift!

6. Bookmark

You cannot deny that bookmarks are useful. Readers need to remember where they left off in their books. But some bookmarks break or crumble. It can be great to have some back-ups!

7. Best-Selling Books

What better Christmas gifts for readers than some best-selling books? There are plenty of best-sellers out there for you to choose from. Here are a few books that almost everyone loves: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid (Historical Fiction), Atomic Habits by James Clear (Self-Help), It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover (Romance) and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab (Historical Fantasy).

If you are looking for wonderful young adult books to gift, I have a list you might enjoy!

8. Kobo

Paper books are getting to be insanely expensive. It costs a hundred dollars to get a couple of books. The best way around that is to buy digital books. A Kobo is a great gift for the readers in your life. They will love having books available to them that they can easily and cheaply access.

9. Large Knit Socks

One of the most important parts of reading is comfort. A reader needs to be comfy to be able to focus. Large knit socks are the perfect way to get that comfort!

10. Wearable Blanket

Okay, so this one is pretty practical. All readers want to get comfy under a nice warm blanket, but how are they supposed to read if their arms are confined by the blanket? So they have to choose between warmth and reading. Why not have both? Wearable blankets allow them to hold their book while also being comfy.

11. Subscription Boxes

Subscription boxes are probably the best gifts for those of you who have no idea what to get. With a subscription box, you can get your reader a new book chosen by a professional as well as a few trinkets. OwlCrate is my personal favourite subscription box service. They choose the best young adult novels!

12. Scratch Off Book List

Readers can get stuck in their little ruts. It can be hard to read something new when you’ve stuck to the same books for so long. A booklist can help people to find some new reads. They will love to have some new book options! It can also be fun to have a book list that’s interactive like this one.

13. Book Sleeve

Travelling with books is harrowing. It can be terrible to accidentally bend some pages, get them dirty, or worse of all, get something sticky on them. A book sleeve protects people’s books. They encompass the books so that no harm comes to them while travelling.

14. Candles

Christmas gifts for readers should always include candles. They make the perfect atmosphere for reading. The lighting and the smell are wonderful. You can’t go wrong with a few candles!

15. Book Stand

Holding a book up for too long can be exhausting for your arms. You have to move around a lot to be able to read for long periods. Having a book stand is the solution to that problem. Your reader won’t have to be uncomfortable anymore with this new book stand!

16. Wooden Bath Tray

Again, comfort is very important to readers. That’s why baths are the perfect spot for reading (as long as they keep their hands dry to flip the page). A bath plank gives your reader somewhere to put their book while reading in the bath.

17. Wine Glass

What kind of book club doesn’t include wine (for the adults, of course)? Everyone needs a wine glass with a nice saying on it. It can make reading just that much more fun!

18. Reading Shirt

What better gift for a reader than a shirt that flaunts the fact that they are a reader? There are plenty of shirts with sayings about reading. The readers in your life will love some great new shirts for their collection!

19. Pillow

Reading for long periods can cause you to be uncomfortable. One way to solve that is to gift them a pillow to hold them up in bed while reading. It is the perfect shape and size to make reading just that much more comfortable!

20. Page Pointer

Bookmarks are great! But sometimes readers need just a little bit more. Readers can stop in the middle of their chapters but don’t have a bookmark to tell them where they stopped. Here is the easiest way to keep track of where they are, even if they stopped in the middle of a page.

21. Tote Bag

It is common knowledge that books can be kind of large. Not everyone has a bag big enough to carry it around. Tote bags are just the right size to carry books around!

Choosing Christmas gifts for readers can feel impossible! How are you expected to pick the right books for them?! But what other gifts can you buy for them? Lucky for you, you have me to count on. Listed above are some of the greatest gifts for readers that aren’t necessarily books (except for one, sorry).
