There are a plethora of hobbies out there, especially for artsy and creative people. Here are some great examples:

1. Painting

Painting is a great way to express yourself creatively. However, lots of people avoid this activity because there is a myth that the pictures have to come out perfect. Striving for perfection hinders the creative process. Just paint without worrying, and you might find that you enjoy the experience.

2. Paper Quilling

Paper quilling is not a hobby everyone has heard of. Paper quilling is the art of curling and gluing strips of paper together to create images. This hobby typically requires special tools for twisting the paper as well as lots of effort and time. If you want to give it a try without paying too much, I was able to use pieces of paper that my sister and I cut ourselves. We also curled the paper using things I had around the house, like a pair of little scissors. It took more effort, but the final product was worth it. (Sorry! It is not perfect.)

3. Drawing

This one is pretty self-explanatory. Drawing is easy to do with the supplies at home. Drawing is typically where people get started with their artistic abilities. Practice in this art form can help improve other abilities, like painting.

4. Baking

Baking might seem like a weird addition to this list, but a lot of creativity goes into the design and creation of desserts and pastries. Making recipes your own by changing something or by making the presentation beautiful is a great way to show off your creative abilities.

5. Scrapbooking

Scrapbooking requires a lot of creativity. Scrapbooks, especially the more detailed ones, are great for expressing yourself through your art and memories. It is also great to have reminders of your adventures with yourself, your family, and your friends.

6. Bullet Journaling

Bullet journaling is a new way to keep organized. The journal is blank and is filled as you go along. Because of the blank pages, the journal is completely unique to you. You can be as creative as you wish. I have been bullet journaling for the past two years. It is a great creative outlet, especially for those of us who need a little extra motivation to stay organized.

7. Hand-Lettering

With the rise of bullet journaling, hand-lettering has become more popular. For those of us who enjoy calligraphy and cursive lettering, hand-lettering is a great hobby to start. It can be done with minimal supplies and instructions. Hand-lettering is a great skill to enhance your art and other creative activities.

8. Web Design

Some of us are more technologically skilled and enjoy designing the web. Websites are being made every day. If you are good at web design, you can always create your own website. However, not everyone wants to run a site. You always can sell your skills and design for others.

9. Crafting

There are plenty of crafts out there for you to try. Building birdhouses, making ornaments, and creating bracelets are all great examples. Crafting is a way to beautify your surrounding in your own style. It is also a fun activity to do with your children. You can all enjoy making your space your own.

10. Upcycling

Upcycling is a way fun to use what you have around the house to create something new. Clothes can be cut and sewn to make new designs. Old furniture can be painted to change its look. There is no point in throwing out good items if they can be reused.

11. Photography

Photography requires a creative eye. Not everyone can find that perfect shot. That is why photography is great for those who want to express and share their creativity. Taking pictures also allows you to keep physical copies of your memories for years to come.

12. Crocheting/Knitting

People might see crocheting and knitting as a hobby for the older generations. However, these hobbies have yet to become futile. There are still lots of things that can be made with this art form. Scarves, hats, slippers, etc. are all things we use. These items can also be sold, gifted, or donated to others.

13. Candle/Soapmaking

Molds for candles and for soaps are available for crafting purposes. You can personalize your candles and soaps by picking their shapes as well as their scents. These items can also be great gift ideas to remind others of you.

14. Carving

Now that you have your soap and candle, you can personalize them even further. It can be really fun to have your own designs for the objects in your home. If you are feeling adventurous, you can try whittling (carving wood to create figures and sculptures). However, carving wax is far easier (and perhaps safer) than wood.

15. Cosplaying

For those of you with a love of fandoms and a love of fashion, cosplaying might be for you. Lots of creativity goes into making costumes. I must admit there are not that many opportunities to wear your cosplay right now, but creating your own outfits is fulfilling in itself.

Now, go and be creative!
